1. Sandcastle / Sculpture building can start around 12.30pm on Sunday 1 June
2008. Registration will take place at the Bandstand.
2. Entrants will receive an entry number when they register. These should be
worn in a prominent place throughout the competition.
3. The competition will take place in a marked area of the beach. Only
Sandcastles / Sculptures in this area will be judged.
4. The Sandcastle / Sculpture can be constructed using any natural materials
found on the beach (so long as it does not constitute a danger to the public).
Sand must be the major element in the construction.
5. Gardening tools such as spades and wheelbarrows may not be used.
6. Prize winning Sandcastles will be judged on the day. The Judges’ decision
will be final.
7. Entries for the Children's Category MUST NOT have adults
help. In cases where this rule is broken, the finished sculpture will not be
judged.
8. Entrants must clear from the beach any elements of their Sandcastle /
Sculpture that may harm the environment, before the tide comes in.
9. Stewards will patrol the area to ensure rules are adhered to.
Note: Adverse weather conditions may result in the cancellation of the
competition on the day. The organisers’ decision will be final.
